Welcome to the Parents’ Section of our website. We have developed this site as a way to improve communication with you and provide resources you may find useful. All forms, documents and any other information regarding the current school year will be found in this section of the web site.
Parents are the backbone of Shrine Schools. Dedication to your kids, their education and Catholic faith is why our community continues to grow and prosper.
The purpose of the Mothers’ Club is to enhance the Shrine community through our service, concern, and commitment.
The Mothers’ Club is comprised of a board of four elected officers, approximately 50 chairpersons, and 25 committees that provide fundraising, service and social connections for our community. Together, we assist the school administration and staff, enrich student educational opportunities, promote social events, and hold fundraisers.
The Mothers’ Club newsletter is distributed via email and meetings occur every other month in the Shrine Parish Conference Center.
There are a wide range of flexible time commitments available during the day, evening, and weekends. Because many hands aid in the success of our committees, all are encouraged to play an active role in the Shrine Catholic Grade School Mothers’ Club, and help advance the welfare of the children in our school.

The following opportunities are a great way to fulfill those hours. Please sign in at the office on the blue Visitor Sign-In sheet when volunteering.
Hours: 7:40 – 8:00 a.m.
Check in at the office and put on a yellow vest. Two volunteers will ensure safety in the Linwood parking lot by the following:
1) Stand on sidewalk near 12 Mile Road – Motion cars to move as far forward as possible before dropping off. Encourage cars to enter parking lane if drop-off lane is backing up onto 12 Mile.
2) Stand on sidewalk near Linwood – Motion cars to move as far forward as possible before dropping off. Encourage cars in drop-off lane to turn left onto Linwood.
When finished, volunteers return the yellow vest.
Hours: 7:45 am - 8:05 am
Volunteers assist our preschoolers after they enter through the main doors by the office to go through the connector doors to our Early Childhood Center to their classroom.
Hours: 11:05 am – 1:15 pm
Volunteers assist and interac with students in the lunchroom and wipe clean tables between lunch periods to provide a pleasant and healthy lunchroom environment. We need 5 volunteers to work the lunchroom every day.
Hours: 11:05 am - 1:15 pm

Volunteers start at the 1st grade classrooms and walk our students attending kids club to the cafeteria for check in.
Please visit the Mothers’ Club and Dads’ Club web sites.
DROP-OFF: Each morning, enter from the parking lot off of the WOODWARD side. There will be cones guiding you to a 2 lane drop off area. Please pull ALL THE WAY UP (near the dumpster) as the lanes tend to back up onto Woodward. Mrs. Valdes and Mrs. Bankowski will be going car-to-car to get your child out and assist them into the building. (At your child’s designated meet and greet time slot, your teacher will give you a laminated piece of paper that has your child’s designated class symbol on it. Please place this in your window or windshield upon pulling up so we know in those first few weeks which classroom your child will be going to. Your child will also be given a bag tag to place on their tote bag to help them/us, as well.)
PICK-UP: For pick-up, we ask that you please PARK in the Woodward/ECC parking lot. Once you see your child’s teacher come out with their class, you must walk up to the doors to get your child. CHILDREN MAY NOT CROSS THE PARKING LOT BY THEMSELVES, even if you are standing by your car waiting for them. Safety is our utmost priority when it comes to your children. Half-day dismissal times for our 3-year-olds is 11:05; our 4-year-olds will be dismissed at 11:10; Junior Kindergarten is dismissed at 11:00. We are a service organization with a long history of providing labor and resources to events and programs at Shrine Catholic High School and Academy. The Dads’ Club contributes to the Master Plan and supports the school with scholarships and funding for athletics, the yearbook, the Observer Newspaper, the Spring Musical, the Music Department, and all the various clubs and student organizations. We supply not only financial support but manpower for a wide variety of student activities.
We help keep the interscholastic teams staffed with supplies and work to improve the facilities that help make Shrine sports teams successful every year. Working together, Shrine Dads display an active example of Catholic charity and fraternity, contributing to the successful education of our Sons and Daughters. We also work outside of the school at parish functions such as the annual Dream Cruise Party and the Annual Christmas Tree Sale. These two events alone raise a large percentage of the operating capital raised by both the High School and the Grade School Dads’ clubs to help “Enhance the Student Experience” in the Shrine community. We donate our time and skills to make Shrine a better place for our children, at the same time having a good time and forming great friendships.
Every year we are looking to increase the participation of the Dads throughout the Shrine Schools. With greater participation comes not only a wealth of ideas, but greater opportunity to make the “Shrine Experience” better for the entire student community. Please come join the Dads in “Enhancing the Student Experience”. Show your kids that they are important enough for you to invest a few more hours of your time making “Their Shrine Experience” better.
In the immortal words of David Macker (Past Shrine Dads’ Club President) – “It’s For The Kids”.
Membership information:
“Dads, if you have a child attending Shrine Catholic HS, then you are a member of the Dads’ Club. If you’ve never been to one, come by to a meeting, meet some great dads, hear about all the ways in which we support the school and have some food and beverages.”
Meetings are the first Monday of each month (unless a holiday) at the Berkley American Legion (South side of 12 Mile Road between Coolidge and Woodward). Food and social time 7:00 pm with the business meeting at 7:30 pm. Join us and enjoy yet another great part of the Shrine community.

SCRIP offers families tuition reduction by purchasing gift certificates through Shrine Catholic Schools to shop at area grocery and retail stores and restaurants. The discounted amount of the gift certificate is passed on to each individual family and applied to your child’s tuition.
REGISTRATION PROCESS:
1) Contact the SCRIP Coordinator, Chestra Peaslee, at [email protected] for the enrollment code before you begin the registration process.
2) Click on www.shopwithscrip.com to begin the registration process
3) Follow the steps and provide an email address, password, account information (name, student name of your youngest child), etc.
4) The last step is to insert Shrine’s Enrollment Code given to you by the SCRIP coordinator.
5) After registering, click on My Account
6) Click on PRESTOPAY (located on the left hand side)
7) Fill in your bank account information (a small amount, i.e. 015 or less, will automatically be deducted from your bank account)
8) Allow 3-5 days for processing – PRESTOPAY will deposit two small random amounts of money into your account
9) As soon as you see the deposits in your account, make a note of the amounts. Return to www.shopwithscrip.comto verify the set up of your PrestoPay account.
10) You will be given an approval code and you will email or forward this on to Chestra Peaslee to complete the registration process to begin ordering online.
Ordering is simple! A listing will come up by category and you may either view all or select by the alphabetical listing at the top. Click on the retailer, put in the quantity, click add to cart and proceed to checkout. All online orders must be placed by 9:00 a.m. on Mondays. You can also create a list of gift cards you purchase frequently by adding them to your Favorites.
Last, the SCRIP program automatically deducted approximately 1 percent from the order to run the program. This percent will now be taken at every payout instead of with every order. ShopwithSCRIP earning percentages can also be higher as random shopping bonuses may occur.
